Spending holidays with your family...... PRICELESS

This long weekend was very special for me. Its my very first Philippine holiday I was able to avail after nine years of working with companies following US holidays! Imagine nine years of having a different holiday with the rest of my family and for me its very evident miracle.

When I give up some amount of salary when I left my previous industry I told myself its gotta be worth it! There are days that I really miss the little perks that I gave up but God never fails to remind me of the things that I valued when I made my decision. The decision to follow His will... Now I have more time to serve both communities that I belong to and I can say YES more to the talks I'm being invited to conduct by God's amazing Grace. Experiencing all of these, I thought my new career is all about me serving HIM but it was not just that. He again proved me how my thoughts are different from HIS.

As the old cliche would say that "There is no place like home," I get to spend my 4-weekend with my family. Saturday, I rested during the day watch movies with my sister and went out for my Music Ministry practice. We finished a little late, thank you for my ever loyal and loving GG (God's Gift) who was kind enough to fetch me and brought me home. Sunday came, we got up and prepared early for our SFC graduation. One thing I miss though, the last mass schedule in our village, which is not an excuse for me 'coz its my sole obligation as Catholic Christian to always hear mass on Sundays. Another thing that I need to add on my confession list (whew). My brothers and sisters who also serve their respective ministries, please make sure to do this first thing in the morning if you would really be busy on Sundays. Its a non negotiable not unless, we're sick. I ended my day with a prayer of forgiveness and praise.

God, though He knows how imperfect I am, were still generous enough to bless my much awaited miracle, the two-day holiday I'm waiting for! Monday came, I really was so lazy to get up but when I heard my parents went to the kitchen I rose and help in the chores. My brothers grilled Tilapia (yummy!), I made the dip for the fish and wash the dishes. Nanay made the Pinakbet and others were busy doing their respective tasks. Its a blessing to be in a family of seven 'coz there are enough laborers and you got to laugh especially if you have a funny youngest brother who imitates the newest teleserye "Budoy" while teaching us how to duggie! Can it be any funnier from that? After lunch we went to the mall for groceries and then went home.

Tuesday morning, All Saints Day. We were not able to schedule to go to my parents provinces because we have moved my Tatay's birthday celebration to November 1 to avail our Manila Bay Cruise dinner. So I got up a early hearing my dad was bitten by Dollar (our pet dog) while he was bathing it. So we waited for my sister and brought him to UMC hospital. Thank God for the health cards 'coz we have been spared for almost 8,000 pesos worth of vaccination. The bite was just small but the fact that it bled falls in the stage 3 category of animal bites as the doctor said. We were laughing at Tatay finding out he is afraid of needles!

Then afternoon came and we prepared going to the dinner. We were complete and it was our first time to go in a cruise as a family. By God's loving grace, we had a terrific time, chosen the best seat and had a sumptuous buffet dinner while being serenaded by a band on the second level of the yacht. Everyone was so happy and we ended our day with praying the rosary and sleep for the next morning will be very very early as everyone has to come back to work.... With these much of amazing miracle, God again reminded me that spending holidays with your family is truly...PRICELESS.
